About Lacey
Introducing Miss Lacey!
Lacey is an affectionate, slightly anxious, inquisitive little poppet! Her previous owner was unfortunately experiencing some serious health issues, but prior to that, Lacey had been incredibly well loved and cared for.
She is now looking for a home where someone will be home more often than not - so could be a perfect companion for a recent retiree. Lacey is anxious when left alone, although she does eventually settle after some noisy time. Secure fencing at ground level is a must due to this anxiety.
She may be able to live with another similar-sized dog (although she prefers human company most of all!), and we would be happy to facilitate a meet and greet at the shelter with your dog! Kids in the home will be considered, but older children (8 years +) who can show restraint and respect around dogs will be best.
Lacey is easy to walk on a lead and will make a great exercise buddy! She'd love to land in a home with a regular walker who could whip her into shape (the vets said she could stand to lose about 3kg, even though we have also told her she is still totally fabulous). She loves to play with her tennis ball too, and will happily retrieve it over and over, bringing it right back to your feet.
She has had a full health check with our vet team and is in pretty good health, although she does have a low-grade luxating patella on one of her hind legs and will likely require to be on joint supplementation on an everyday basis.
If you think you have the perfect home for Lacey, please submit an application form and feel free to call or visit the shelter with any questions:
