About Des
Introducing the delightful Des, a 17-week-old kelpie/border collie cross puppy.
While in foster care Des has lived with his four siblings. He was the littlest of the litter but has grown into a confident and independent fellow. He’s very handsome, with the most beautiful eyes.
His mother is a working dog, so Des may well be suited to farm work – but he has not been instinct tested. He will chase chickens, given the chance, and shows no fear in the face of a variety of livestock. He has not been exposed to cats and he is not particularly interested in rabbits or kangaroos. But he loves chasing butterflies and their shadows!
Des is very keen on the older dogs at his foster home and would benefit from another canine buddy. He is toilet trained and coming to grips with basic commands – but will need ongoing dedicated training, particularly in relation to his selective hearing! He is very smart so will respond well to routine and boundaries. He is crate-trained and sleeps well through the night, and is good on a lead and learning to adapt to a little control. As he grows, Des will need more and more exercise and lots of activities to stimulate his busy brain. Currently, very little escapes his interest, and absolutely everything is worth chewing!
Des has a fabulous temperament and is very affectionate. He will give his new human family a lot of love and will be a lifelong friend.

Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa.
