NOTE: You are unable to meet Leo until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Leo in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

Leo is an independent boy who is more than happy to do his own thing but does want to be in the company of humans so if your looking for a cuddly/Playful dog leo is not the one for you.


What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• I MUST be allowed inside with my family especially at night.
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay company for me but I don't interact much with other dogs and can be picky with who my friends are.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love
• A quiet & mature family/household

• Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Children under 12yrs as I don't want to interact with them but am happy to be around them.
• Cats or small animals as I have a high prey drive.

My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit, shake hands
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I know my basic doggie commands
• I appear housetrained and am used to being allowed inside
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I appear to be quiet vocal initially when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended

Medical
• I am a little on the chonky side and would benefit from losing some weight
• I have a metal plate in my arm from a previous injury but this doesnt faze me.
