About Finley
Fabulous Finley is a beautiful black 6 year old boy who is a gentle giant.
He spends the majority of his day lazing around on his beds wherever the humans are. He enjoys playing with his chew toys independently, and snuggling with any soft toys he can find, he has shown no signs of resource guarding or food aggression. He loves snuggling under his blanket and letting out an enthusiastic grunt when he settles into just the right position.
Finley can be a little cheeky and will steal food if he can reach the bench top as he loves any and all fruits and veg.
While out and about, Finley walks calmly on lead and will even bump into your hand to get a cheeky scratch mid-walk. He shows no signs of leash aggression and will be interested in any animal he sees, however he has a low threshold for enthusiastic small dogs and a keen eye for spotting cats; with patience and hard work he is no longer reactive to cats he sees on his walk however he will watch from a distance for a few seconds.
Finley has shown minimal signs of sleep startle, however he can growl in his sleep so it is safest to keep a distance and wake him using words or noise. Finley's new home will need to provide him a safe, quiet area where he can rest undisturbed by his humans.
Finley has separation anxiety which can manifest in some vocalising at times, he is on medication currently which has made a positive effect and assists in keeping him settled however this does mean that its preferable potential adopters are home more often than not.
Finley is not an only dog in his current living quarters, he shares the attention of his humans with a greyhound sister and a little fluffy brother; however he is not suited to live with small dogs as he can be unpredictable.
With saying all of that, Finley’s ideal home would include:
- Another greyhound or large breed dog (pending introductions)
- Garden for zoomies and lounging around
- Humans who are home more often than not
- No small dogs, cats, or other small pets.
