About Elvis (IMP No. 2009)
Meet ELVIS! Elvis is a 1-2yr old neo mastiff who LOVES playing fetch and receiving all the attention. For those of you who follow our page you probably recognise Elvis but may notice something is different… His cherry eye is gone!
A ‘cherry eye’ is a gland that has popped out (known as a prolapsed third eyelid gland in vet words) and if left unfixed, the gland is exposed and can become damaged and the eye itself can become ulcerated and infected.
However thanks to the generosity of Family Vets at Blacktown, surgery was done to place the gland back into its original position.
* After the surgery he had pain relief medication and eye drops for 7 days
* His eyes still look a bit droopy but don’t worry this is just due to his breed
Elvis is now much more comfortable now after the surgery and is resuming his search for his forever family! Elvis would prefer to go to an only dog home.
