On Hold
About Dobermann Puppy, Mielo.
'Mielo', meaning kind and sweet, tolerant, friendly and expressive, lives up to his name. He shares his food bowl with his nanny-Dobermann, his soul sister here at Dobermann.Club, he's also named after her.
Mielo has learned a great deal since arriving, and today is a great day for him, with a big bone to focus on for the hot weather, misting sprays and a wading pool to enjoy, plus inside time when its too hot for snoozes and toy play.
Mielo is house trained and obedience trained.
A superb, pedigreed boy who is delightful and determined to enjoy life, he loves cats, dogs, and everyone!!
From our partner breeders, this young boy will melt your heart; he's becoming a social butterfly,
like all pup Dobermann pups at 5 months old he loves a good play.
Mielo's confidence builds every day. He loves walks, honing his tree-sniffing techniques!
His lovely soft personality blesses our day with the bountiful amount of love on offer at all times and superb cuddles and one on one time.
The shuffle of his big soft feet on carpet realigning close by at all times he’s a constant shadow, and he is true Dobermann velcro boy.
He's crate trained and has obedience under his belt, which must continue in his new home for the best manners inside and outside.
Have you trained a dog in obedience before? If not, please let us know so we can provide you with information on its simplicity and effectiveness.
Mielo is up to luring with food into a sit and stay position and his 'wait' command is also very good!
Mielo is picking up new lessons each day with our interactive day program designed for him, including;
1. interactive food hunting in our grassy areas,
2. safely wrapped food treat packages he needs to 'unwrap' (supervised)
3. working for his food
4. following and responding to commands (found in his development booklet).
Can you provide Mielo with his current program at home, offering him enrichment and companionship?
When happiness meets bliss, Mielo is great outside in our backyard areas, fully shaded, with plenty of daily fresh water and outside toys to explore. He can manage himself, but he is suited to an older female Dobermann or a large breed female who is kind and firm. He can be by himself with a routine suitable for a puppy (we can help here), please let us know.
Mielo's bliss is inside and comes into his own when faced with fluffy beds, cool air and companionship.
While Mileo has not lived with children in his short time on earth, we will only consider homes with children who have successfully lived with large breed dogs and are respectful of Mileo's space and sleeping time and area.
Like all puppies, Mielo wears his heart on his sleeve, although now past the teething phase, which was particularly hard for him, he's sensitive.
Mielo is best suited to sleep inside at night and crated for naps with plenty of interactions, play and fun in between.
Areas inside the home and outside in the yard to keep him safe are a must.
He will be a large Dobermann, so thick comfortable bedding is needed.
Are you a competent dog handler? Are you keen to join a local agility/obedience club?
Mielo has an aptitude for dog sports and will excel in these areas with his sharp focus and drive, which will be fantastic for his development, health, and well-being.^^
He will be a fantastic boy with or without dog sports!
^^ We use pack theory as a part of our internal structure; it is essential to understand this and put it into practice with Dobermanns, provided in our Adoption Booklet.
Time and home structure are essential for all developing puppies; sleeping, resting and growing are best supported by our nutritional approach to his diet and health development.
Can you provide Mielo with fresh raw food and quiet spaces to rest and grow? What are your thoughts and experience around raw feeding?
Our nutritional systems are in concert with leading global veterinary nutritionists.
Always lovely and affectionate, he'll be perfect for anyone who would like to experience the breed and anyone with an active home.^^
^^NHFD policy is not to adopt Dobermanns to homes with children under 10 years of age unless children have had prior experience, and/or supervision by experienced adults.

Adoption details
We have an adoption process which refers to the questions in each Dobermann's profile.
The questions will help you understand each Dobermann's need across the areas of care of importance whilst in care with us and for their ongoing maintenance in your home.
After considering these against your work, family and lifestyle schedule, please message us via PetRescue Messaging; we'd love to hear from you.
Our process is straightforward.
We follow up on your PetRescue message with a phone call appointment (scheduled) to discuss your interest and build a working relationship with you.
We look forward to highlighting your Dobermann of interest and can present other Dobermanns who may be a more suitable fit.
A follow-up phone call/video call to answer your questions (usually after 5 pm on weekdays or by arrangement on weekends) after you've had time to consider all Dobermanns.
Our selection criteria are clear and transparent.
We will do a home check before we approve the adoption and further communications via phone call/facetime to finalise any outstanding questions you or we may have.
A veterinary referee or a professional referee is needed.
We will ask for your vet's name and contact details as a reference, plus other supporting documents, including rental housing approval at your current address from your leasing agent or landlord for a large breed dog.
Once we approve the adoption, the adoption fee, associated documentation and adoption contract are finalised, ownership transfer is forwarded to you and supporting veterinary records are sent to your vet.
Our commitment.
We remain supportive and accessible to you and your Dobermann under the adoption program, with open, transparent, practical support and solutions when you need us.
