Hi, I’m Twiggy!
I am young, timid girl looking for a confident human who will be able to show me the patience and reassurance I need to be a great companion! My carers put a crate in my kennel at first so I would feel extra safe when I felt overwhelmed. Over time, I started to come out and enjoy my carers company. Now, I love seeing them every day! I especially love the people I know best.
I would be best suited to a home that is generally quiet, with the ability to take me on daily walks and play in the backyard. I have not been on a lead much in the past but I still walk quite nicely. New environments are a little scary so I tend to stay close to my handlers on a walk for reassurance. It would be beneficial to take high-value treats out on walk to assure me I’m doing a good job and help me with my confidence.
I’m still young so I will require training with basic obedience and general manners but I love to learn. Once I’m comfortable and confident I will be the playful, goofy puppy that I should be at my age. I haven’t figured out the benefit of playing with toys yet, but maybe in time I will.
If you're at home quite a bit, we would be a perfect match! I have met other dogs at the facility and I generally show very playful behaviour. This may be annoying for some dogs, but if you have a patient and gentle dog who can show me how to interact appropriately, bring them in and maybe we can be best buds! Due to my timid nature I’d be best suited around children who are 10 years and older, and who have been around dogs before.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, apply for me below.

Medical notes
When one of our pets finds a new home, our team then book into the Council's contracted vet for them to be desexed (the next business day typically). We will transport your new furry family member to our vet for desexing in the morning. In the afternoon, you can then collect your furry friend from the vet following their procedure.
Adoption details

Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
