Approx. 20kgs
Hi, I’m Silas.
I’m looking for a forever home with a family who has owned dogs in the past, and has experience with dog who have special behavioural traits. I came into the facility very afraid of people, mostly I would hide under my bed and only come out when my carers were very quiet and patiently waited for me. I’ve begun to realise that people are kind, and I especially like the people I know well. It won’t take long for me to build trust with my new owners, so maybe you can give me the chance!
I would be most suited to a quiet, calm household where I can retreat to my own space when things get overwhelming or be in your space when I’m seeking reassurance. I’d love to go out for daily walks in a low-populated area while I’m still finding my confidence. I haven’t been confident enough to show a playful side to my carers yet, but I know in my new home once I’m comfortable, this will come.
Due to my timid nature I would be best being around children who are 12 years or older, so if there are any children at home, bring them in to meet me. I don’t require a large backyard, just big enough to stretch my legs and do my business. Fencing around the yard should be tall and secure to keep me safe. I am a sensitive guy, so my new owners will have to be gentle and patient with my while I’m learning new things. I’d prefer to be the only dog in the household for now as I have not been socialised much in the past.
I may require professional training to assist me with confidence building and environmental exposure to ensure I become the best dog I can be. Small things like walking to the end of a driveway will be a challenge, but I promise to work hard.
Please give me chance to be your best friend. Apply below!
