NOTE: You are unable to meet Petey until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Petey in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• I can only go to a home with a submissive female doggie friend as i am not a fan of male dogs.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with cats, so it is recommended that I don't go to a home that has them.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
. Male dogs - i am NOT a fan
My best features:
• lovely, sweet natured & gentle boy
• I am a generally well mannered and placid young man
• Playful wigglebum
• I can sit
• I love a snuggle and chin/cheek scratches
• I walk well on lead
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require further basic training so that I am the best behaved and well rounded boy that I can be
• I am a little shy at first in unfamiliar situations, I will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• It appears that I have not been allowed inside before so I am not housetrained yet
• I can be a bit pushy at doors and try to get past you - further training and positive reinforcement around this should help
Adoption details
All adoptions are through an application process.
You will find the link to the online application form in each animal’s profile.
Preferred applicants will be phoned to book an appointment to meet the dog or cat.
Once the adoption has been finalised, unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for adoptions to be finalised and emails sent.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
