About Bruno
Bruno is a young dog who is still growing into his body and adolescent mind and the world around him. He has a lovely brindle coat, with dazzling white paws and the whitest teeth!
He is very affectionate and loves to lick! He does not have separation anxiety when his foster carer goes to work full-time, he is used to vacuuming so you can do your household cleaning in peace, he does not show resource guarding of anything, and he goes in and out of the doggy door to do his business and play in the yard when he wants to!
He is a clever and obedient boy who learns quickly and has good recall.
Bruno still has a puppy mindset at this age, so he will happily play with his toys when you're busy or ask you to play with him and will casually laze in the sun in the backyard.
When he is home alone, he can keep himself busy with naps, exploration of the yard, playing with his toys or chewing on long-lasting treats.
When you're home with him, he has great respect of rules and boundaries for his age and will 'ask' to come onto the couch to cuddle you and then nap away on you, but he will brazenly and shamelessly stretch against you and your couch without any disregard to the human body next to him!
Bruno is excellent at loose leash walking and gets two walks a day or an enthusiastic play at a dog park. He is an active dog and is growing in confidence with the world and the various people and children he sees. Bruno requires someone with assertive calm leadership. Due to lack of exposure and in very rare cases Bruno can show reactivity to random objects he sees, as well as people or children he meets - this is becoming very rare as he grows more comfortable. His reactivity is diminishing day by day and almost non-existent as he becomes desensitized and will require someone who can continue his current techniques and training where they will be fully supported.
Bruno is a sweet dog and whilst independent for his age, he loves to be on the couch and nap on you. He loves playing tug of war with you or fetching a ball and can play hide-and-go-seek with his toys.
He knows his commands well and is house-trained. He would love to be in a family without kids and with a playful resident dog who doesn't mind a rough-and-tumble play style, or he will be fine as the only pet at home with a yard.
Most significantly he needs someone who will continue his socialization with other dogs, his desensitization to the world and his current training in becoming well-balanced dog.
