About Razor Aka Ray!
Hello! My name is Razor though my Foster mum calls me Ray as she thinks that suits me better. I was left at a cattery by my owner who didn't come back to get me. The cattery owners kept me as I'm so great but their dog harassed me and I hated that so I had to get out of there.
My Foster mum says I'm a bit chonky, so I made a New Years resolution to do something about it. I'm on a special diet to get me summer ready.
Despite my boy version of the resting B face, I am the complete opposite of that. I'm cuddly, affectionate and sweet natured. I love people and will follow you around the house to see what you are doing and smooch your legs.
I love some couch time, snoozing through a movie with you. I'll come to bed with you at night and sleep on a blanky on your bed. I don't mind a wee play, it's part of my New Years excersie regime.
If you are looking for a sweet, smooshy love bug that just wants to be with you look no further. Do you want to be with me?
-- ONGOING HEALTH REQUIREMENTS --
Ray will need monthly Solensia injections at the vet to help him remain comfortable as he has advanced arthritis issues. With this treatment, Ray is able to move around without being in so much pain, including jumping up on and down from low surfaces like couches and platforms on the lower half of cat trees. He is due for his Solensia shots on the first of every month.
Ray's weight needs to be monitored for the sake of his joints (and overall health) - as cute as he is being ""extra cuddly"", his excess weight does put a lot of stress on his joints, so his weight needs to be gently guided down until he is vet assessed as being at a healthy weight for his size. Maintenance of a healthy weight for Ray is incredibly important to keep him out of unnecessary pain.
Ray is also prone to conjunctivitis. This isn't a big deal, and just requires an eye ointment from the vet whenever it may flare up. His conjunctivitis tends to recur when he's stressed, so this shouldn't be often. Treatment is quite simple - application of the ointment in his eyes twice a day for seven days, and it should clear right up.
Ray's major dental work has been completed already. He has had his upper canines removed as they were infected and causing him a lot of pain. His adoptive family will need to be mindful of his dental health, and mention it at his annual vet appointments to ensure his gums and remaining teeth are kept healthy. He is still very much able to eat dry kibble despite not having his upper canines.
He is currently eating Hills Sensitive Skin and Stomach kibble (small portion), and Hills Perfect Weight/Royal Canin Sensitivity Control wet sachets. He can be a sensitive boy, but he seems to be doing well on either Hills or Royal Canin foods.
These are non-negotiable points of his care, so his adoptive family must be prepared to commit to providing these for him.
Razor has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #953010001310404, source #RE101165). He is available for adoption right now!
