About Rigatoni
*In foster care in Cammeray, Sydney*
Rigatoni (aka Rigs, aka Rigsy) is a sweet Staffy X who adores his people and just wants to be around you! His kind face will melt your heart and his cuddles will seal the deal :) He loves to rest his head in your lap, in your hands or on your shoulder - wherever you'll have him.
Rigatoni's favourite things are playing with his toys, walks, treats, and making new friends! He's pretty good on the lead, though he is quite strong and likes to greet other dogs so his foster carers are continuing to work on this. The great news is that he's a quick learner and highly trainable.
In fact, Rigs already has some cool new tricks under his belt - but one he's yet to master is how to take his treat while he has his donkey (his favourite toy) in his mouth! No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to multitask, so he head-butts his treat. It's just one of his many quirks that will make you fall instantly in love :)
Like all Maggie's pets, Rigatoni is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I really enjoy being around people and/or other dogs, and will be happiest with a family who loves me as much as I love them! I’ll curl up next to you on the couch if you'll let me, otherwise I'm perfectly content in a comfy spot on the floor at your feet.
I don’t need a ton of space, but I do like to mosey around and I definitely enjoy a good outdoor romp so a small apartment won't be ideal for me. I'm fine to be left by myself with a couple of toys, but long periods of time alone make me sad - so a home with lots of company would be best.
I love adventures and experiencing new things, and will thrive in an active household who'll include me fully in their day-to-day lifestyles.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Medium, I'd say! Morning and evening walks are a must, but you don’t have to take me too far if you don’t feel like it. I’m a goofy boy and enjoy a bit of playtime in the mornings, but I'm happy to keep myself busy with a toy if you can't join me. I like to follow my humans around and supervise as they work or do their chores. This is pretty hard work of course, so I tend to spend my afternoons snoozing!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I love little people as much as I love big ones! As I’m still a kid myself, I'd be a good match with slightly older human siblings as I can sometimes get rather excited when I play, and would hate to accidentally knock anyone over.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'll do well either as a single doggo if my people can give me lots of attention and hang out with me more often than not, or with another dog or two who enjoy a bit of play every now and then! I haven’t yet met another dog I haven’t liked, and my favourite place is curling up next to my foster sister. My last foster home also had a cat and I wasn’t really fussed :)
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
