The sweet and loving girl Pebbles is now seeking her forever home

Pebbles is a med size 25 kilo Staghound mix who arrived into the rescue after being dumped in the pound with her 9 x 1 week old babies a few months ago

Her babies are all now grown up and adopted and it's now her turn to find that special family

Pebbles has a heart of gold and is very loving and affectionate

Pebbles loves to spend time with her humans and is happiest when she is following her humans around or has special human visitors that she knows and loves. She greets her humans by running up to them and wagging her tail. She has moments when she zooms around in circles, running gracefully and taking corners like a pro. She loves attention and pats.

Pebbles still can be a little nervous around loud noises as her exposure to the big wide world must have previously been limited so when taking her to very busy areas patience and gentle encouragement should be used

OBEDIENCE & ENRICHMENT

Pebbles loves attention and can be trained to obey with consistent teaching and training. She wants to please and can be trained to obey her humans, particularly with those who spend time with her and take the time to give her the love and attention she requires. When it is play time, she is very active and loves playing tug-o-war and zoomies. She loves to run and roll in the grass.

She loves going for walks and gets very excited when she sees her lead because she knows that means a walk is on the cards. She has a good nose for smells, and you can see it twitch when she picks up distant scents in the breeze. She also has very acute hearing and is quick to look up even when she is sleeping when there is some noise.

SLEEPING & TOILETING

She sleeps all night and has little naps during the day and likes to snooze in the sun. Pebbles is toilet trained and will use a doggie door when she needs to go out. She has a pattern of sniffing the ground and walking around in the shape of an infinite symbol or eight before she selects a spot to do her business.

SOCIALISATION WITH OTHER ANIMALS

Pebbles has not been tested with cats so we will not adopt her to a cat home.

We have tested her with other dogs and although she was polite to walk with them she is still a little nervous and doesn't like them up in her face and her lip does curl when this occurs so based on this we are seeking an only dog home.

We feel in the right hands Pebbles does have huge capabilities of being social with the right training and patience

FOOD

Pebbles eats well, has at least two meals a day with an additional bone to chew, which she loves. She is not too fond of dry food but will eat it if she gets hungry enough. She loves canned dog food stew. When she is not hungry, she will tend to bury her bones to save for later lol

HYGIENE

Pebbles have thick fur and will need regular baths. She does tend to shed a little so will need a daily brush.

IDEAL HOME:

Pebbles will thrive in a home with lots of people who can give her lots of love and attention. She is not fussy and is happy to be indoors or outdoors. She is quite self-sufficient but will need some investment in training and daily walks. A largish yard would be ideal with secure fencing

A home that are prepared to walk her daily

A home with children woulds be fine but we seek mature and experienced loving kids

A home that will love her and make sure she is a loving part of the family

Pebbles will make a happy and content companion and will be happy to guard her human’s property as typical Staghound she will bark at strangers but its all bluff lol
