Chae

Our beautiful little man Chae is now available for adoption and seeking his forever home.
Chae is a 20 Month Old Jack Russell x Maltese. He is such an adorable, quirky fun loving boy and would best thrive in an environment with a friendly, tolerant, well socialised female fur sister as he loves to play and enjoys the company of other dogs.
Chae ( meaning new beginnings) arrived into the rescue in November completely shutdown and scared of everything , he was quite traumatised from his past and sadly had lost all trust in people. With much love, time and patience he has learned that life within his foster home is a safe place and lots of fun.
He will require a home that has had experience with dogs that require that extra special patience
Chae had been badly abused in his previous life and definitely needs an understanding home who have lots of patience and NO children either visiting or residing in the home as children were his abusers in his previous life

Fast forward 2 Months Chae’s personality has certainly began to shine, he has so much love to offer once he connects with his special person(s)! He is now experiencing a normal relationship with his foster family enjoying evening movies sitting on foster dads lap, cuddles, belly rubs and daily walks with foster mum, fun with the dog toys, hanging out with and wrestling with his best mate resident feline Larry. Chae also loves a good game of chase and zoomies with the human teenager of the house.

We will be seeking a special home for Chae. He will require a calm, child free home and an owner that is kind extremely patient, predictable with a priority to make him feel safe.
An owner that will understand that it takes time to build a relationship and to allow the relationship to happen slowly and naturally.
He has come such a long way and is ready to transition into his loving and forever home.

OBEDIENCE/TRAINING
Chae is a pup and can be a little mischievous but will listen when foster Mum gives a stern instruction of ‘No’ or ‘Down’.
Chae will sometimes sit when asked but still not always comfortable to be fed treats or a snack from your hand.
Chae loves his daily walk and will require further lead training as he does get quiet excited especially when other dogs pass -He’s loves to say hello to all the friendly dogs passing by.
Chae will require durable strong toys and long lasting treats for stimulation to avoid any destructive behaviour. By providing sufficient exercise and socialisation with other dogs this normally corrects this type of behaviour.
Chae is not fully toilet trained but having very few accidents inside, taking him out for regular toilet breaks is a must.
FOOD
Chae is fed twice daily and likes to graze on his dry food throughout the day, he enjoys his premium dog roll for dinner.
He loves his treats especially the long lasting ones which include air dried rabbits ear and shark cartilage.
ANIMAL SOCIAL SKILLS.
Chae is in foster care with a grumpy Jack Russell and a cheeky cat.
He loves the company of other dogs and the presence of another dog also boosts his confidence when being around people.
The resident cat behaves very dog like and is Chae’s best mate they are constantly getting up to mischief chasing and wrestling with each other.
INDEPENDENCE
Chae prefers to be indoors and in the presence of his foster family or the resident cat, whilst outside he enjoys a laze in the sun, chase the wild birds out of the yard and is provided with puzzle toys and chew toys for stimulation.
BATHING
Chae does have a long wispy coat, he was groomed last month by a calm gentle and experienced groomer and will require the occasional groom.
He is scared of his bath but will sit still so the bath can be completed as quickly and stress free as possible.
SLEEPING
Chae sleeps inside of a night in his plush donut bed on the warmer nights he has slept outside in his unlocked crate but he much prefers to be an inside sleeper.
EXERCISE
Chae’s favourite activity is his walks he absolutely loves his daily walks and will require one each day, some further lead training will be required as he does get very excitable when passing other dogs, he enjoyed his visit to the dog park and would benefit from regular play dates with small tolerant and well socialised dogs.

A friendly, playful, well socialised (desexed) fur sister of a similar size .
A good size grassed yard with secure fencing.
NO CHILDREN
A home where visitors will need to be respectful of his space and boundaries and understand that he does not want pets or to be approached by unfamiliar faces until he gets to know you.
Daily walks and most importantly lots and lots of love.❤️
