About Macy
Please meet Macy, an energetic, clever and affectionate girl of mixed breed. Maybe a Border Collie, English Staffy, Kelpie mix?
Macy is living very contentedly with her foster family and their children, cats, chooks and four dogs.
Her foster mum has this to say about her:
"Macy is super affectionate, great in the house and my little shadow, but is also happy to chill outside with the other dogs. Clever and willing to please, her favourite pastime is cuddling - she gives great cuddles - and following me around. But I have no doubt that she will rapidly transfer her abundant affection to her new family, although she might pick a favourite.
"My kids adore her and she doesn't mind their rough play. She treats the children with utmost respect."
Macy goes running regularly with her foster dad, who describes her as “a very good, consistent runner, perfect for someone looking for an athletic trail buddy."
It's hard to believe that Macy has been in our care since late 2022. That frightened youngster with a damaged soul and a fear of men is now largely healed. She's still wary of strangers coming into her territory, but recently took only a few minutes to warm up to houseguests with no prior experience with dogs. That's a significant improvement. And with a proper introduction, she’s fine with men now, too. She certainly loves her foster dad as you can see in the photos.
Macy would make a delightful companion for an active individual or busy family. She is not suited to a non-stimulating environment or being left alone in the backyard for hours on end. She needs someone around most of the time and, ideally but not necessarily, a canine mate to play with.
She also needs space to romp and play. Her exercise needs are most easily met if she has a compatible canine mate to play with or if she's an athletic trail buddy for a keen runner.
