About Sunny
Hi I’m Sunny – I am a Pomeranian x Spitz and I am 18 months old and I’m a whole bunch of fluffy love!
I should probably tell you I am 6.8kgs cause the hair can sometimes make me look bigger then what I am – but a lot of that is just fur!
So I will launch right into the obvious then - I have a lovely fluffy coat that does require regularly grooming and brushing so please make sure that you do remember that I’m a life time of grooming.
Sunny has come into care thru no fault of his own and he is now ready for his next adventure in life with a family.
Sunny is a very independent boy (in his mind) but also loves to be closed by when his humans are home – he will seek you out from the next room and keep an eye on you or he will come next to you and find his little spot to relax in while watching you.
Sunny will do pats and cuddles on his own time and isn’t what we would call a ‘needy bum’ He will happily ask for cuddles and pats when he wants them and if not he’s very content to enjoy a snooze by himself or with his foster siblings.
Sunny does enjoy playing with his foster fur siblings and can do this for many hours thru the day keeping entertained. However if he has the right family who really include him in their lives and day to day activities he will be fine as an only fur child.
He is currently in care with small children and is easy come easy go with them daily – sometimes he loves to play other times he will simply go off and snooze.
He will though if excited love to lick his foster human siblings faces and give them lots of kisses (or trying to taste what they have just eaten by cleaning their face – one can never tell).
Obviously he would adore a home where someone is there to keep him company but if not that’s okay as he will entertain himself while you’re at work or out.
Since coming into care he has learnt toilet training but still learning to use the doggy door
He is also happy learning to using his crate and can sit and wait for his dinner.
Sunny is untested with cats
Sunny can be noise reactive at night (he can be frightened) but with a calm small reassuring he will go back to sleep – this should ease as he settles into his new home

All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
