About Marley
PHOTOS COMING SOON!!
Marley might be approaching 11 years of age, but she still has a bundle of energy. Born on 5th February, 2012 - she has a birthday coming up early next month!!!
She is a maltese/pomeranian cross, mostly maltese!! She really is a delightful little girl, loves human company and other dogs. SHE MUST GO TO A HOME WHERE THERE IS ANOTHER SMALL DOG. She will not thrive being an only dog, she has always had another dog around her, she is very friendly around them.
Marley does have mild separation anxiety (another dog helps her settle down quickly). She can be quite vocal, but it helps to put her in a large crate or puppy pen before you go out. I leave a radio on (loudly) and that seems to help. Like all dogs, she sleeps a lot during the day, she likes the lounge but also stretches out on the tiled floor. She also loves to sit on the lounge with you, and cuddle up! She must be kept indoors and allowed access outside to the yard. Marley quite enjoys going outside during the day, so there must be very secure gates and fencing to keep her secure and safe. She took about 3 days to completely settle down in my home, but once she got used to the house and yard, she was no trouble at all.
Marley just loves going for her daily walks, gets so excited when she sees her harness and lead - she doesn't need a long walk, but is always keen to go that extra distance. She must not ever be off lead - she will not come back when called, and is really quick off the mark!!
I think Marley would happily sleep on her owner's bed, but in my home she sleeps in a large puppy pen in the lounge room with my own dogs. She sleeps through the night, not a peep out of her. She is house-trained, but unfortunately, if another dog pees in the house, she will follow.
Marley needs an owner/owners who are retired, spend a large amount of their day at home, and have another small dog. She does not play with other dogs, but needs the security of their presence. She has an old toy that she just love to chew on, but is not interested in any new toys.
Marley's coat needs regular washing and grooming, plus she LOVES to lick her paws so they do get discoloured.
Please read Medical Notes for her history.
We would like Marley to be adopted locally, if possible, within an hour's radius of Port Macquarie, mid north coast, NSW.
Applications to adopt this little girl are now being accepted.

.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
