Hi my name is Vans and I am a super adorable smart and loveable Wolfhound x looking for my forever home.
Vans is a little soft boy with a white nose and loves a big cuddle. He is a very confident boy who is keen to be around humans. You will get a kiss from him and maybe even a nibble on the ear, although with puppy teeth they feel like needles. He will sit and stare at you through the glass door and give a whine or bark when he wants attention. He has the most adorable face and eyes. Being in a home with 5 siblings he is quite outgoing and will be involved in everything. He is one of the first puppies to come running to people. He is happy to be picked up, cuddled and held. For a puppy he has an all round good temperament and attitude.
Baby Vanns Mum we know is a Wolfhound x of Med size and his Daddy is either a Golden Retriever or a Red Heeler !! The ranger from the pound was informed both of these breeds had a playdate with mummy !!!!!!!
Currently weighing in at 5 kilos, we expect him to grow to a medium to large size dog.

Food
Vans is currently eating three meals a day consisting of premium puppy dry food and either cooked chicken or rice. Vans loves his food and when you are preparing his meal he will come running, he will sit and watch you prepare the meal. He holds he own even though he is small and gets to his bowl and gulps down his food. He would also benefit from a slow feeder. We are using Smacko’s for treats and training.
Sleeping
Vans loves sleeping with his 2 brothers and 3 sisters in a covered crate. He sleeps through the night and normally goes to bed around 10pm and will not wake until about 7 am. During the day he will snuggle up with one of his siblings on a mat or in a dog bed at the back door.
Toileting/Training/walking
Vans is continuing to learn about toilet training and has access to the garden at night and both garden and grassed area during the day. On occasions he has had an accident inside if he has been too long inside, but will mostly go outside. In his new home we would expect him to have a few accidents until he is used to her new surroundings and finds his spot. It will be important for you to encourage him to go outside once he wakes up from sleeping or taking a nap.
Vans will take food gently from your hand. It will be important that he goes to puppy school to further his training.
Due to his age and not being fully vaccinated Vans has not had any practice being on a lead. He has been wearing a collar and is not fussed about having it on. He will need ongoing use of the lead and would benefit from learning from other dogs. We also take him out the back with a semi see through fence to get used to seeing new things like cars driving past and people/dogs out walking.
Once Vans is old enough and fully vaccinated it will be important that he is taken for a daily walk.
Exercise/toys
Vans loves exploring in the house and outside in the garden. He can be seen with his siblings in the garden playing hide and seek and also exploring his surroundings. He enjoys wrestling with his siblings. You will normally find him outside in the garden playing with his toys and siblings. Vans is learning about tug of war and he is starting to chase his resident JRT X playing zoomies. During the hot weather he has access to a small shell pool and will happily climb in and play in the water.
Children
Vans is currently living in a home with 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, which he adores. Vans has also been around other people and is very friendly, however he has puppy teeth and so a home with older children would be better suited.
Dogs/Cats
Vans has not been tested with cats, but due to his age I don't see any problem with him being homed with a cat as he is young enough to learn
Vans is currently living with 5 of his siblings and 2 Jack Russell’s who are older. Vans tries getting attention from the other dogs, but being older they can be grumpy. Vans would love to find a home with a medium/large size female dog. He is very considerate and doesn’t annoy them too much.
Travel
Vans are not fussed by the car and will normally just lay down and enjoy the ride. He has been on long road trips (2hrs) and will sleep in the car.
Bath
Vans has had a few baths and is not fussed by the water at all. He has also been dipped on hot days and is happy to be cooled down. He is given treats during the bath to learn it is ok to have a spa treatment.

Adoption Requirements for Vans
IDEAL HOME
He should be welcomed and be part of the family and not constantly left outside alone.
Kids would be okay if they are mature and dog savvy. Oakley is very mouthy and will nip with sharp puppy teeth. Kids should also understand he needs sleep and to be left alone for 18-20 hours a day while he is young.
Vanns should be taken to puppy school and will need training at home to continue becoming a good boy. He should also be socialized with other dogs once he has all of his vaccinations.
He will require at least one walk a day once he is old enough for the rest of his life. He also needs a medium to large size yard with grass and shelter.
Vanns is such a stunning boy with a gorgeous personality and will be a wonderful addition to an amazing home.
If I could have my wish for my new home I would love the following
Children - I would love to have some children if possible who are gentle and kind and loving but mature enure to know I need lots of un interrupted nap time while of grow and who won't drop me so over 5 would be nice
I would love a secure backyard that has grass for me to play in with shelter and shade and room for me to run so no little units or tiny terrace yards
I would be fine with cats as there are some in my foster home and I'm young enough to learn
I would love a BFF doggy friend if possible that is a FEMALE and of medium size and up who is kind and loving and would be ok with the usual puppy chewing and playful behavior. .She must be desexed and well socialized with other dogs
I would love a home that my new family are willing to train me and not just have me as a back yard ornament and who will treat me as a part of the family
