Introducing the cutest little happy and loving fella, the ADORABLE Sparky

This sweet little fella is a Jack Russell weighing in at 5 kilos and has an absolute heart of gold

At just 3 years of age Sparky has just been a delight and has shown us he will suite pretty much any type of household that has NO MALES

SPARKY has a fear of men and will not be adopted to a home with any males including children

He adores the young children in his foster home and when tested with another dog he was delighted to meet them and happy to have a play

Sparky has had a dental and his teeth cleaned and polished

Favorite things – He loves to be around his humans. He will lie on the couch or sit on your lap all day. He loves having cuddles and belly rubs. Sparky never gets tired of playing fetch and he loves to be chased.

Interaction with humans - Sparky is happy to be around people and he is amazing with kids. He has bonded very well with an 8yr old little human in his foster family who was really afraid to go near dogs before. Sparky is a very gentle and sweet little boy. He can easily get frightened from loud voices and sudden moves. He greets visitors to his foster home with much love by wagging his tail continuously. He has met a few kids aged 5+yrs at his foster home and has been very friendly and gentle to them. He has never been overly excited when seeing strangers during his walks.

Obedience / Training - Sparky walks very well on the lead. We are currently working on commands like sit and stay. Sparky responds to being called. So with time and training, we think he will become very good at obeying commands. He has traveled to the vet twice in the back of the car in a crate. He was a bit nervous at first but quickly settled.

Animal Social Skills –We have tested him with a larger female and he was very well mannered

As we have not tested him with cats he will not be adopted to a cat home

Food - Sparky is currently eating two meals of dry food a day. However, he is not that food oriented. When he came to our care, he needed to gain some weight. We have noticed that he loves moist food more and has been eating chicken mince and rice at the beginning. Then we tried mixing in some boiled chicken into softened up dry food to encourage him to eat dry food which has worked really well.

Independence – He has never been left alone so far. If left alone outdoors, he will just stare at you through the window. He has never shown any destructive behavior indoors or outdoors. Recently, he has been howling for a little while when his little humans go to school. With a little cuddle and a pat, he quickly settles and either follows his foster mum or dad around or just relaxes on the couch

Bathing and Hygiene – He has had quick baths so he can get used to being bathed. He likes to be towel dried and brushed. Sparky has a short, easy to care for coat.

Sleeping – He likes to sleep anywhere he can find a snuggly blanket. Currently he sleeps on his bed placed next to his little human’s bed. Sparky settles into his bed when his foster family goes to bed and sleeps through the night until his family wake up in the morning.

Exercise – Sparky loves to go on walks exploring the outside world. However, he does feel the chilly cold and will require a coat if walking on cold days

Inside the home – He is very much used to being an inside dog. He is house trained and never had any accidents. If he wants to go to the toilet, he goes out when the door is opened and comes back inside right after. He has never been destructive or chewed on anything other than his squeaky parrot toy.

Sparky really needs to be an inside dog to keep him happy as he adores being a part of the family

NO MALES IN THE HOME

Sparky would much prefer a home where he is not home alone for long extended hours of the day

A home that have the time to walk Sparky every day

A home with has children would be lovely as he adored playing with the kids but we seek mature age gentle children as sparky is a little fella

A home with another dog would also be suitable but we seek a well socialized female who is gentle but playful

A home with a secure yard of any size is fine as Sparky prefers the inside life

A home that will allow Sparky to be an inside boy with outdoor access
