Saxon, Sonic, Syon, Polly, Mercy - 10 Week Old Pup

**Available for adoption** 10-week-old Jack Russell Terrier Pups.

Available mid-January 2023. 4 Boys and 2 Girls. (Adopting separately and 1 per family home)

Born in a loving foster care home these six healthy, happy, well balanced, and playful pups are going to give you are world of joy, laughs, cuddles, and kisses. They are doing all the normal puppy things as they learn and grow. They love to run, wrestle, play, chew, dig, eat, poop and sleep.

Their personalities are shining through brightly. Sao and Saxon are the calm, gentle and quiet natured ones who often want to be nursed before sleep time. Sonic and Syon are the rough and tumble where’s the action boys. Both girls Polly and Mercy are brave and tenacious tom boys, action instigators and will take on any or all the boys in any game. All the pups seek time and attention, love, and affection; they are all gorgeous, will melt your heart and fill that space your family needs and desires.

Because they love company and love playing with their siblings it would be great if they could go to a home that has another dog they can play with while their owners are out and about. Otherwise, a home with owners who can give them plenty of enrichment and exercise will also be considered.

About the breed - Jack Russell pups are highly intelligent, athletic, happy-go-lucky, high energy and curious go-getters who are on top of everything that's going on in their environment. They have hard-as-nails hunting skills, strong prey drive, determination, and intensity so small pets that run, squeak, or flutter probably won't last an hour.

They require full participation in the family and vigorous daily exercise, walking and play sessions, especially ball chasing, which they tend to get passionate about – even obsessive. Too little exercise, too little companionship, and too little mental stimulation will quickly lead to boredom, which will in turn lead to destructive unwanted behaviours.

Overview
JRTs are not apartment dogs, nor are they suited to people who work a lot.
JRT need or want:
o a fully fenced yard with no small gaps or open pool fencing.
o a family where someone is home a lot.
o an active family who has time and energy to take them on outings to fulfill their exercise and social needs
o a family committed to training, exercise, play, walks and toilet training.
o to be welcomed inside the family home day and night.
o A family to be able to bring him to a DRN approved vet at 6 months of age for desexing.

It is DRN policy for all shortlisted applicants to undergo a yard check. You must have secure fencing to be considered a suitable home.

The pups are vaccinated, however and as they are too young to be desexed, they will only be available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens and North Shore as they will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when approximately 6 months old. Please NO out of area applications.

The pups are currently in foster care at Cameron Park NSW.

The adoption fee is $800 and includes desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and treatment for fleas and worms.
