About Rory
Our VERY SPECIAL Senior Jack Russell boy Rory is ready to find his loving retirement home.
We are looking for a quiet home where Rory can be doted on but equally meet his ongoing medical needs.
Rory's date of birth is 13 September 2013.
Rory has had a rough time with skin issues but with the right care, his fur has grown back nicely.
Rory is a joy and deserves the perfect home in his senior years. He is the sweetest boy who loves to be wherever his people are, whether it be curled up on the floor while you prepare lunch or snuggled up against you on the couch. He enjoys his daily walks and likes to sniff the world around him however he can pull a little on the lead.
Rory is toilet trained and would suit a home which allows him to sleep inside with access to outside. Rory has met children while in foster care, he was a little scared of the young ones and was happy for them to leave and go home to their parents. He would prefer a nice quiet, adult only home to live out the rest of his years.
Rory loves car rides, he will sit happily on the back seat without a peep. Rory very rarely barks. He can be a little anxious when left on his own so would like someone home more often than not. Rory is eager to please but he doesn’t seem to understand commands, he knows, hop in your bed and his recall is good.
Rory requires monthly flea and worm treatment with Nexgard Spectra. He also requires regular Cyptopoint - Anti-Allergy injections. Rory has been in our care since October 2022 and we have noted that he gets the itches so these injections help him significantly. There of course is a chance as Rory's skin continues to heal (from years of neglect) he may be able to be weaned off these injections.
Anyone that has been following Rory's journey on our page will know how much his skin and hair has improved.
Rory is a pure delight. He would prefer to be an only pet in the home so he can have the full attention. He is good with other dogs and currently in care with a larger dog.
Rory's adoption fee is $600 and he goes to his new home flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and recently had a Cyptopoint injection.

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
