About Dolly
Dolly's personality:
Dolly is a lovely young lady with a sweet temperament, looking for a quiet and loving home. She loves to be picked up and cuddled and will happily doze with her chosen person on the couch. We estimate Dolly to be around 14 months old.
Though her amputated lower leg may fool many, Dolly is almost as swift-footed as her kittens. She has no problem hopping up and down from her cat tower, or pinning down cheeky kittens until they stop misbehaving (ask Duncan if you don’t believe us…)
Dolly was a very young mum, at only one year old, and sustained an injury from her time in the house that resulted in the loss of her lower front left leg. She is a friendly and bubbly girl who will make a wonderful companion.
Dolly’s story:
Last October, Dolly was rescued from a home estimated to house 40 abandoned cats. Sweet Pea Animal Rescue was able to take on 7 adult cats and 16 kittens.
She has been the most amazing foster mum to our young kittens, taking them on as if they were all her own, feeding them constantly and keeping them safe.
Dolly’s purrfect forever home:
Dolly would prefer a place without too many stairs- while she is able to climb up and down quite competently, too many stairs would be tiring and risk injury. As with all our rescue cats, Dolly will need to be adopted as indoor only.
Any family who will let her lay back and relax is a good fit in Dolly’s eyes- after taking care of six boisterous kittens, she’s looking forward to (and deserves) a long holiday!
Medical notes
Dolly is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and has been treated for fleas, ticks and worms. When she arrived in our care, she was missing the lower half of her front left leg. It was closely monitored to ensure it required no further surgery and has healed up very well. We do not know how she lost her leg, or what she has been through - but we know for sure that she gets right on with life!
