About Hera and Otto
If you are looking for an instant loving family, then look no further than this beautiful bonded pair!
Hera and Otto are extremely sweet and affectionate dogs looking for a new family after their previous owner had to move into a retirement home. Hera is a female medium tri-coloured mixed breed who is 5 years old with a pretty spotted chest. Otto is a male medium tri coloured mixed breed who is 7 years old with a white stripe down his chest. Both dogs adore getting affection and cuddles from their foster carers and are good friends with each other.
Otto is Mr Social and is keen to make friends with everyone that he meets. He enjoys playing with his people – he loves fetch, tug of war and splashing in the hose when you water the garden. Hera is a bit more reserved when meeting strangers for the first time, but she quickly warms up when she realises they provide the pats. With her family she is a true snuggle bug and loves to lean into you for pats. In the evenings, these two love to cuddle up with you on the couch and enjoy having the laid back chill time just hanging out.
Both Hera and Otto are well-mannered dogs in and around the home. They are happy home alone together during the day, are not destructive and are not barkers unless there is a strange noise. When not interacting with you, they are more than happy just to laze around and are quite calm inside the house. At night they sleep on their dog beds in the house without a peep and they also travel well in the car. Both dogs are toilet trained and have good manners around food as well.
Both dogs enjoy their daily walks – Hera has lovely manners walking on the lead, Otto is more excited initially and will pull on the leash at the beginning before settling into a more comfortable pace. Otto is very smart and responsive to training, so he is already improving with his lead skills while in foster care. When out walking, Hera is less confident than Otto and looks to him and her walker for reassurance if there is a loud or unexpected noise. She can also be uncomfortable around unknown dogs, particularly if they bark at her, whereas Otto just wants to say hi to other dogs. Both dogs will need a home where they will get a nice daily walk on leash around the neighbourhood. They are not suitable for a family wanting to visit dog parks as it would be too overwhelming for Hera.
We are looking for a dog savvy home where both dogs can be included as part of the family. As they are already a bonded pair, they will be looking for a home without another dog. They will need a home with a nice yard but also where they will be allowed to come inside to spend time with their family and sleep inside at night. Hera and Otto are not suited to living with very young children but would be fine with older children (8yo+) who understand how to be interact respectfully with dogs and provide them with a bit of their own space sometimes. They are not suitable for a home with cats. We will be looking for a suburban or rural lifestyle for this pair as they have originated in the country so may find the inner city overwhelming. They previously lived on property with alpacas and sheep so are fine with livestock. This gorgeous pair are going to bring a lot of happiness and many cuddles to their new family.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
