About Yoda
If there is a happier dog out there than Yoda, then we will eat our hats!
Yoda is a unique little dog – he has a big dog look packed into only 11.6kg! He also has a big personality full of love and happiness. Yoda is the sweetest boy and loves his people more than anything. He is keen to meet anyone and everyone to get some pats or a bum scratch. Yoda is 100% sure he is a lapdog that needs all the cuddles. The cutest thing ever is that he even wags his tail at people he sees on the TV! Yoda is always wagging his tail and gives that big smile to you. When he hears a new or interesting noise, he also has the most endearing head tilt. When it’s playtime, Yoda enjoys playing with toys but mostly he likes a good chew session with them. When he come inside, he switches into his snuggle buddy mode and will cuddle up beside you on the couch for some relaxation time. All in all, you can’t help but fall in love with this boy and his little, short legs.
Yoda’s wonderful sociability extends to doggie friends too. He is currently living with 5 other dogs of all varying sizes and ages – he is great with them all. When first meeting other dogs he is very keen to say hello and a bit excitable but quickly settles down. He loves to have a good play with other dogs but also snuggles up with the big old dog in the evenings. Yoda would love a home with another playful dog who was happy to share their space and their people. Otherwise, he will need a home where he was given ample opportunity to socialise with other friendly and playful dogs in a more controlled environment (such as playdates rather than off lead dog areas where the dogs are unknown). Regardless, he will need daily exercise and playtime.
Yoda doesn’t seem to have received a lot of training in his previous home so he is getting a crash course that his new family will need to continue on with. He is willing to please but can be distracted, so food is useful to get his attention. Yoda has already worked out how to sit and wait patiently for his dinner to be placed down for him so with good guidance he comes along in leaps and bounds. He was not used to a lead at first and would try to back out of a collar/harness, but he is now coming along well and enjoys going on walks. Yoda can be a bit exuberant in his love giving so his foster carer is working on teaching him not to mouth or jump up which he is progressing with very well, but this will need to be reinforced by his new family.
We are looking for a dog experienced home where Yoda will be included as part of the family. He will need a home with another suitable dog (see above) and/or where someone is home more often than not. Yoda should be allowed to spend time inside with his family and sleep inside at night. He will be a great dog to take out on adventures and have loads of fun with. Due to his excitable nature, he is best suited to older dog savvy kids who would be comfortable with more boisterous play but also able to participate in his training. Yoda has been cat tested and he showed no aggression; however, he would probably try to play with a cat. If a confident cat had its own space in the house to retreat to, he would probably be ok with appropriate management. Yoda would thrive in a household where he got to join in on all the adventures and have lots of fun. No matter what type of day you’ve had, he would be bound to make it better with his happy personality and constantly wagging tail.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
