About Raven
Raven is a stunning 2.5-year-old long-coat German Shepherd who is looking for a family to share her life with.
Raven is a fun-loving girl that adores playing with her toys, she can always be found carrying something in her mouth and enjoys engaging with her humans in games. Raven is a ditzy girl who is easily distracted by everything around her, she has a curious nature and will constantly have you shaking your head in laughter at her goofball antics.
Raven adores everyone she meets, she is affectionate and cuddly with anyone that is willing to give her attention and loves being brushed and groomed. Raven does jump up when overstimulated, she doesn’t jump onto people but is very bouncy up and down and may accidentally knock over small children, she is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 5 years old.
Raven knows her basic commands and is also crate trained, she enjoys part-taking in training sessions with her foster carer and is working on her leash manners. Raven is generally well behaved in the house and is not a destructive dog. Raven needs an experienced German Shepherd owner that can work with Raven long-term, she needs to work on her impulse control and excitability in new situations and will need ongoing training and socialisation in her new home.
Raven has a high prey drive and enjoys the chase of anything small, she is not suited to a home with small animals, cats, or livestock. Raven also becomes hyper-fixated around small fluffy dogs and will chase if given the chance, she needs to keep her distance from small dogs and will need to work with a trainer long-term if she is to be integrated with them in the future.
Raven is more accepting of large dogs, although she can be reactive to them out on a walk, she is successfully living with 2 large dogs in foster care. Raven would benefit from living with a large breed, male dog in her new home, an older, calm dog that can show Raven the ropes would be suitable.
Raven is a sweet girl with a very loving nature, she needs someone willing to give her the ongoing training and stimulation she needs to be a happy, well-rounded dog. Raven loves enrichment toys and needs to be given plenty of enrichment to keep her amused when she is home alone, she is an active girl that loves to play and run around, she will make a great family dog for an active family willing to put in the effort into their new companion.
Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
