About Peppa And Peanut
Wanted! A patient and caring person, couple or family with room in their hearts and homes for two very special little girls... a home with children over 12 is preferable.
Preferably a home with no other animals currently as these girls need a bit of time to find their place in their forever home.
These girls have a bond that can't be broken and hence come as a package deal. Your instant cuddly, loving, playful fur family.
They had a tough start to life, living on the streets with their mum and baby brother who are both now living their best life in their forever homes, but have been spoiled and loved in foster care and love indoor life.
Peppa and Peanut (or Nutty P, as she is affectionately known) are very different to each other but complement each other beautifully. Peanut has some trust issues when it comes to people and will need time to feel comfortable in her new surroundings, but Peppa is instantly sweet, trusting and loving, and helps show Nutty that humans are A-OK. One of the reasons Peppa is so super friendly, however, is that she has a neurological condition, possibly caused by a brain injury before she came into our care. It means she has no inhibitions, and thinks everyone is her friend! It makes her the sweetest cat we've known, but her new family will need to have an understanding that she may require extra attention and care. Her legs don't seem to work exactly the same as other cats but she certainly doesn't let that slow her down. She finds different ways to reach the heights her sister can jump to by climbing on things to help her along the way.
When asked what Peppa wanted the most it was someone who is compassionate to her needs. A little lift here or a wipe there. Her bottom is very fluffy and sometimes she needs some help keeping it clean. She has been having some issues toileting at her foster carers place as there are a lot of cats and she tends to like a clean toilet to use. With the help of feliway and some anti anxiety medication she is doing much better and using the litter all the time.
As for Peanut, she just wants someone who understands she needs a little time. Once she trusts you she will be most loyal little lady ever. Her peculiar meow is endearing, and how she comes running when she hears the Kmart laser being turned on really is adorable. It keeps her occupied for hours. She has a deep love of string - so much she tries to eat it regularly and therefore needs to be supervised when playing with any string based toys.
We are really not sure how Peppa's brain injury will affect her as she grows. There may be need for medical treatment in the future that is directly related to her brain injury. But her funny little face is just the cutest, and caring for her will be very rewarding.
What we do know is these two need a safe environment to live in. Indoors only due to their pink ears and noses. A catio or cat proofed balcony would be ideal, as well as lots of windows so they can watch the world go by from the safety of their humble abode.
The girls will be making their debut at Pets Wonderland in Prahran this weekend. Come down and meet these special little girls!
