About Force Field
Hi there, it is really nice to meet you. My name is Force Field and I am looking for my new home. Now that I have been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and I am up to date with all my flea and worm treatments all I am missing is a home of my own. Something important to know about me is that I have tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). This is a cat only disease which is very similar to HIV. Cats like me which are positive to FIV can live enjoy a good quality of life for a long time before the disease progresses. I am more vulnerable to other diseases and as such should be kept indoor only to protect me from catching illnesses or from spreading FIV to other cats. FIV is not easily spread and the main way cats catch it is from bites from infected cats. If you do have other cats at home, it is recommended that you take introductions very slowly and carefully to ensure we get along and do not fight. It would be best if I only go to a home with another FIV positive cat and that I remain an indoor only cat for life. I am a friendly boy who loves a good chin scratch and lots of pats. I am very content to curl up on a warm lap and watch tv and very much enjoy snuggles in bed with my owner. Being a little bit older than a kitten, I don't have a huge amount of energy, however I would enjoy a bit of play time every day to keep me active. As I require a little extra care and patience, it would be great if my new family is used to looking after cats, especially a bengal cat like me. I'm not biggest fan of being held or carried a lot and do prefer to have all four of my paws on the ground. Being a bengal I am very talkative and no matter what time of day it is, if I want to have a conversation, I will make it known. We are a very intelligent breed and require daily enrichment to keep our little minds going otherwise we can get bored quite quickly. I am a very social boy and require lots of attention so someone who is maybe home more than not would suit me best. Another great way to keep me entertained and enriched is by starting me up with harness training so I can explore the great big world in a safe way. This way I get to explore and it also used up some of my energy. Due to my energetic nature, it is also extremely important that I am provided a well balanced diet that is high in protein. As I am a carnivore, 70% of my diet should be made up of protein which is why my diet is so important. I can also be offered things like raw meat (mince). So, if you think you have room in your heart for a big boy like me, please come and speak to the staff about adopting me.
