Medical Notes - Chicken has had her vetwork completed and a full blood panel run. Chicken will have a routine Scale and polished of her teeth in the New Year before leaving our care. Chicken has been treated for a UTI that she came to us with out of the pound. We believe this is likely due to the stress of the pound environment, and/or her not feeling safe to use the litter box in the pound. She hasn't had any other urinary signs since this has been treated, and doesn't need any ongoing treatment.
Our gorgeous senior girl Chicken is ready to start searching for her perfect forever family. Chicken is a senior lady and found herself homeless in a rural northern pound. Since being in care she has settled beautifully, and is a real smoochy chatter box!
Chicken is very friendly, and gets so excited for human attention that she wags her tail like a dog while she smooches all over you. She is currently in foster care in a multi cat household with no concerns. Chicken is also very fond of the little human in her foster home, and spends lots of her time laying and snuggling with children.
Please get in touch if you can offer Chicken a forever home. 🐾
Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
About us:
Gary and the Handicats Rescue is run soley by a Vet Nurse who works shift work and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons there may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
Meet and Greets:
• Meet and greets are held in an environment where the particular cat or kitten feels most comfortable.
• Please do not bring your own animals to a meet and greet.
• We do not allow any of our animals to be taken home on the day of the meet and greet. Special circumstances may be considered.
Picking up you're new family member:
• You MUST bring a safe, secure, and size appropriate carrier for your baby to travel home in. We do not have carriers to provide new adopters, and we will not send home one of our rescue animals in a cardboard box or a washing basket. If a carrier isn't able to be provided, your adoption will be cancelled.
