About Nona
Hi! I’m Nona and I’m a 2 year old Maremma. I’ve spent the last little while in foster care and now I am ready to find my forever family!
The stay with my foster family has been on a farm and I’ve loved every second of it! I get to play with the 7 other dogs here, and lay in the sun while the chickens scratch for worms around me. Sometimes my foster siblings will chase stock, but I prefer to relax in the yard instead. I know all the basics like sit and shake, I'll come back when called and I'm house trained. I walk well on the lead and I don’t mind being in the crate or on the back of the ute!
Being a Maremma, I can be very suspicious when strange people come into my territory but after a quick (on lead) introduction I warm up to anyone that wants to get to know me. Once I get to know other dogs, I become very playful as long as they can respect my space when I’m not enjoying the game anymore.
I don’t need too much to keep me happy and healthy, a good adventure where we see the sights and do some training, a swim in the river or dam and then a spot on the couch, my bed or crate will keep me being the best I can be. If given the opportunity I can be a very good guard dog and will let you know if somebody is coming up the driveway or in the gate. I don’t mind if I’m an outside dog as it gives me more of a chance to keep an eye on things.
My foster carer thinks I would suit a home with a few acres where I can keep an eye on the house, or better yet, have a go at looking after some chickens or sheep! I need a calm but confident owner who knows what they are doing as I can act using my instincts if I’m feeling uncertain. Committed ongoing training will see me reach my full potential.
If I sound like the girl for you, please put in an application today!
Nona is located in VIC.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
