About Frosty
If you are a sucker for puppy dog eyes than you won’t be able to go past Frosty!
This boy is the opposite of his name in nature – he has the most beautiful disposition. Frosty loves to spend time with his foster carer and people in general. He likes getting attention from anyone who will give it to him, and he loves getting cuddles. Frosty is a friendly affectionate boy and is going to be a loving and loyal companion. Out and about in the yard he likes to find toys or bits of stick to chew on and he is learning to have fun in the sandpit. Frosty is also a big fan of his plush soft toys. In general, he is a more reserved character in new situations but will thrive with appropriate reassurance and guidance.
Frosty is currently living with a couple of medium sized dogs who have been teaching him all the ropes. He enjoys playing with them (even if he ends up being a bit of third wheel sometimes!) and will get in on a bit of a rumble or game of tug of war. However, if things get a bit too much, he is quick to retreat back to his foster carer. As a young pup, Frosty will require ongoing positive socialisation with other dogs. This should be in the form of controlled play dates with known friendly dogs rather than dog park environments as he would be easily overwhelmed. As an adult, he will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to ensure that he remains happy and healthy throughout his life.
While in foster care, Frosty has begun his basic training. He is a very smart boy and already knows how to sit. Now he is learning how to drop, wait for his food, walk on a lead and has started his crate training. He is almost toilet trained in his foster home, but a new family should expect to continue working on this. Being a large breed puppy, it is imperative that his new family are committed to continuing his training right through his adolescence. Puppy school is a good start, but he should also be taken to group classes as well.
We will be looking for a dog experienced home for Frosty where he will be a part of the family. He will require his new family to help him build his independence as he doesn’t like to be left by himself. Frosty will do best with another friendly dog in the home to keep him company but would also like his people around more often than not. He must be allowed inside the home to be with the family and will require a bed inside to sleep on at night. At this stage, he has not been tested around children, cats or pocket pets. He should be able to live with other species with appropriate training and introductions. If there are children in his new home, it would be better if they were older children who were dog savvy and able to recognise that he can be more sensitive pup who sometimes needs to take things slower. Parents would also need to have the time and be committed to managing typical puppy behaviours around children. Whoever adopts this gorgeous boy will have a loyal snuggle buddy who could go out and have some fun with them as well.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
