About Ellie
*In foster care in Pyrmont, Sydney*
Do you want a kitten-shaped puppy? If so, Ellie is the cat for you! Having been hand raised, she's much more dependent on human company than your average feline. You can expect her to greet you at the door when you come home and follow you around like a little shadow :)
Currently, Ellie still goes to bed in her playpen at night - but as soon as the sun comes up, she's raring to go! She loves to reward her foster carers' cuddles with a morning facial (focusing on the nose and eyebrows) complete with purring and a massage, before launching into an attack on their feet under the doona!
Ellie will be happiest in a home where she's not left alone for long periods every day and another friendly cat at home is a requirement. Applications without a cat will not be considered.
Like all Maggie's pets, Ellie is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will have humans who'll spend lots of time with me (ideally you'll work from home or be retired), and a four-legged companion or two to keep me company when you're out.
I adore gentle pats, and I love to drift off holding your hand (squeaking sweetly in protest as sleep takes hold). It's also not uncommon to find me sitting up and swaying as I refuse to succumb to the lure of a nap!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Sky-high! Given the chance, I'll chase and play until I'm so exhausted I can't see straight. When the other pets in my foster home have had enough I just soldier on with my collection of toys, carrying them here, there and everywhere much to the amusement of my humans!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I've had great fun playing with the kids I've met, as they have almost as much energy as I do! Just be aware that if you tempt me with your fingers I'll find them very tasty indeed (but I won't break the skin unless you pull your hand away quickly). I do know the difference between how hard I can bite a human toy versus a plastic one :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: If you work outside the home, I'll definitely need a nice animal friend or two to keep me company. I currently live with two other cats - the younger one is happy to join in my games, but the older one has very little interest and because she's so boring, I generally leave her alone.
With careful introductions I think I'd even be fine with a dog who's used to cats!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
