Look into the soulful eyes of Pablo, and you can tell how much he appreciates being in a home with kind humans.
When Pablo first arrived into care from the Mount Isa Pound, he was frightened and very underweight. He has now put on lots of lean muscle and is becoming more trusting of humans every day. He still startles very easily though, so will need continuing love and patience to heal the trauma that he must have experienced.
Pablo is a very loving dog and his favourite place to be is wherever you are, at your feet. He enjoys cuddles and pats, but will not jump at people - he needs a slower warm up to build up trust. He is also very chilled and is very happy to lie on the floor while you relax in the evening.
Pablo has already started acting like a guard dog and will visit the front fence to bark a few times at night with his foster siblings when he is unsure who is there. His looks belie his gentle nature - he is an ideal dog if you are looking for a deterrent - but Pablo has never shown any sign of any aggression, except for the quick short growl to his foster brother a couple of times at dinner time to stop food stealing. Pablo loves the company of other dogs, although we think he may also do well as an only dog.
Pablo has learned not to jump on the couch or the bed at his foster home, and will not steal your plate of food if you leave it unattended - he knows that it is not his, but is very happy to eat your leftovers if offered! He will need continuing reinforcement of the good manners he has developed. Pablo is used to sleeping outside at night and knows during the day when he must stay outside. He is well past the chewing stage, but has one taken a shoe and given it a good lick!
He will be a wonderful and loyal pet for his lucky family.
Pablo is $350 to adopt, and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and given flea, tick and worm preventatives.
