About Dino
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE.
NAME: Dino
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender.
BREED: American Staffordshire Terrier X
BREED TRAITS: Am Staffs are known as confident, smart and good natured. They are quite high energy, playful, affectionate and intelligent but do require training as they can be headstrong. They are very social with adults and children and are extremely loyal but can suffer from separation anxiety if left for long periods. Their sociability with dogs is a facet that needs work from an early age.
********************************************************************************************
ASSETS: Easy going, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly, outgoing, obedient and playful pretty much sums Dino up. He loves to be near his people and is at his very happiest when he's getting lots of attention!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Anything involving humans! He loves to follow you around and be involved in whatever you're doing, and then curl up with you for a snuggle and snooze.
ENDEARING FEATURES: He has the most expressive face and an absolutely beautiful nature.
OTHER ANIMALS: Dino loves pretty much every new dog that he meets as long as they're friendly to him. He hasn't been introduced to cats as yet, so we would need to cat test him before placing him in a home with cats.
GENERAL INFO: Dino walks well on the lead but gets very excited when out and about meeting new people and doing new things - gentle exposure to his new world and training will help his adjustment. He is mostly housetrained but has the odd accident if left alone for too long. He will bark when someone is at the door and will need chew toys to be provided if left alone for any period of time, otherwise he will chew other things. His command training is coming along in leaps and bounds and he's a quick learner, so training is a breeze with him.
ESSENTIALS for Dino:
** An active, loving home with someone who is home for a lot of the day or can take him out with them, and will involve Dino in all of their family activities.
**An owner who will continue to put in the time to train him and build on the great progress he has made in care.
** Dino needs a large, fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things to sniff and explore.
** Dino loves to be with his family so needs to be allowed inside the home and to sleep inside at night.
**Dino would go well with either another similar size/aged dog or as an only dog, just as long as he gets plenty of interaction with his people and regular contact with other dogs.
Dino would go well in a home with dog-savvy children over 8 years of age.
