Hi, my name is Missy. Sadly, through no fault of my own I need to find a new home to live. I used to live with a lovely family and another small dog but when children came along us dogs were put outside which caused me a lot of stress and I redirected on the other little dog, he’s OK but it was too much of a risk for me to continue living with him as he was very old.
I’m currently with foster carers who are amazing, they are very good to me and take me for two walks a day to try and get some of my weight off, I’m still a little bit on the porky side so my diet needs to continue as it’s not good for a dog to be overweight.
I had my behaviour assessment and passed with flying colours. I’ve lived with children and I really love them, I know how to sit, drop, I’m gentle with taking food, I’m good on the lead, I’m house trained and love to play with the ball.
I met another dog today that wasn’t very friendly towards me, I didn’t react, I just sat down next to my carer but if dogs come too close to my face, I might growl at them, so parks with lots of dogs especially off leash aren’t a good place for me to walk.
I used to live in a rural area and much prefer the peace and quiet, I’m currently staying in a city area and I’m not too happy with all the noise of the traffic etc. I’m OK but I prefer the countryside.
I don’t like storms or fireworks, but I was fine with all the noise testing at my behaviour assessment.
I love people and children best of all, so I hope I can find a family that will love me like I will love them.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above in return, I will give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for!

If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
https://staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/adoption-process/
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan at jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every week to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
