About Wally - 3 Year Old Cavalier X (On Trial)
Wally is a 3 year old male Cavalier King Charles X and weighs in at 11kg. He is charming and super friendly with a gentle nature that will win you over immediately. He relishes in keeping you company all day and being involved in all activities. He thrives on affection and positive, gentle conversation. He is very people oriented and will not thrive if left home alone for long periods of time.
He happily shares our home with a younger female dog of similar size and regular visits from our sons Border Collie. He will dash to the gate with the other dogs to greet people but leaves the barking to the others. He’s just happy to tag along and be part of the gang and would benefit from sharing his new home with another dog.
He loves his daily walks, but will need continuing training on the lead. He is learning not to pull on his lead with the help of a front attaching harness. He is delighted to meet other dogs and people on his walks.
Wally is an indoor dog and has been housetrained whilst with us as he has access to outdoors at all times and has just learnt the dog door. You may expect an initial few accidents when he is adopted to a new home and environment.
Wally has learnt to sit for his dinner and come, but still needs a lot more training for sitting and recall when he is out of his yard. He travels well, tethered in the car but gets very excited and wants to be the first one out at the other end.
We live on the lake and he has happily experienced going out in our boat, although his swimming is only paw deep.
He sleeps inside in his crate at night as he was not housetrained when we got him. Wally is easy to wash in our laundry tub and groom with his short coat and is towel dried in minutes.
It is crucial that Wally has secure fencing and gates as he is very interested in the world beyond his yard and is always very keen to explore what’s on the other side.
He is an absolute pleasure to have in our home. He is easy going, and welcoming to anyone who enters our home. He is excellent with young children, but has not been tested with pocket pets or cats at this stage.
Please note that only those who have completed the online application will be considered.
