NOTE: You are unable to meet Sylvie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Sylvie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• I MUST allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I appeared good with cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• I need to be the only dog at home, I am ok to be around other dogs when out & about on a walk, at the beach etc. however I am not interested in interacting with them and don't like it when they want to play with me.

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• No other dogs - I don't mind passing them and saying hi when out and about but I do not have much tolerance for them

My best features:

• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit, shake hands
• I am a generally well-mannered dog.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Love to snooze on the couch

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization.
