About Oscar - 4 months, Dalmatian x Wolfhound (rev apps)
Oscar is growing to be the sweetest, most affectionate gentle giant who absolutely loves cuddles on the couch, playing with his brothers, and walks around the neighborhood.
He walks well on a lead/harness and follows basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘wait’, & ‘gentle’ when little fingers give him his treats. Oscar is an incredibly smart pup and knows to sit before crossing roads -without being asked- and has a firm grasp on the concept of treats. He is a VERY fast learner.
He loves his food & can be quite competitive (like most puppies), but never aggressive. Oscar will happily entertain himself through the day chewing on bones, but isn’t phased when one of the other dogs pinches it from him for a nibble. He loves his soft teddy toys that he can throw in the air and chase, but hasn’t quite mastered ball games as yet.
Oscar is dog friendly, cat friendly, and child friendly. He currently lives with a tiny chihuahua, his litter brother Buddy, a cat, 4 children (6-15yrs), & 2 adults.
He travels well in the car with his harness and clip, and loves his day trip adventures out with the family.
(Parks, beach, river, BMX track, drop-offs/pick ups etc. life with kids)
His gentle and sweet nature has everyone who meets him absolutely fall in love. There is nothing sweeter than a little nudge nudge from him that leads to his big fluffy head plopped in your lap or just a whole body snuggle while watching a movie.
Oscar absolutely loves being inside with the family, but also understands boundaries. He’s house trained and is very in tune with our family routine, he sleeps outside each evening (10pm-6am) with zero issues.
Oscar would be perfect for another large family full of love and humans, and fur siblings to entertain. While he hasn’t been exposed to babies/toddlers as yet- he remarkably doesn’t lick or jump or get too involved with the kids unless they invite him to. Given he is such a fast learner, and his gentle nature, I would have no concerns. He is still a puppy and very trainable.
Considerations-
Oscar is VERY smart, he knows how to open sliding doors and will let himself inside if you don’t latch them properly.
Oscar & Buddy have been together since birth, separation anxiety may be tough initially for Oscar
He is all legs at the moment, Oscar is going to grow to be quite a big boy. A backyard is absolutely necessary.
While he is cat friendly with our cat- he likes to talk to the neighbors cat who walks along the fence. The only time he will ever bark.
His sweet fluffy head will make it incredibly difficult to get any work done. If you WFH beware 😂
