About Oscar
Hi there new friends, I’m Oscar! I’m looking for my forever home and I’m wondering if you can help me out…
I’ve been living with my foster carers for a while now and have really started to get the hang of being a pet. At first the big, wide world seemed a bit scary. Bikes whizzing past and traffic noises made me so nervous that sometimes I would freeze up completely. My foster carers say that I’ve worked really hard to get past that and now I’m a super confident walker. I love saying hi to new human and doggy pals while walking and have even had playdates with other pups too! I enjoy going for a short walk in the morning and a longer trip to the park in the evenings so I can burn off some energy and hang out with my doggy friends.
When I’m at home my number one favourite thing to do is snuggle up on the sofa with my humans. In fact, I love my humans so much that when they leave the house, I can get a little bit scared and upset. Humans coming and going is one of the parts of pet life that I’m still trying to get used to. Because of this, I would really prefer it if my forever family were at home nearly all the time. I also have a lovely older greyhound foster sister and my foster carers think it might also be nice for me to have a doggy brother or sister to help build my confidence when being left alone.
I enjoy playing with enrichment toys and puzzles… in fact anything that involves food and treats is great in my eyes! Sometimes I think my human’s food looks really yummy too, but I understand when no means no.
Because I’m still young and full of energy my ideal family will be active and willing to help me navigate the parts of pet life that I’m still finding a little bit tricky. I can’t wait to meet you and find my place in your family… and on your couch!
More about Oscar
Oscar is an 20-month-old boy who has been in foster care with Amazing Greys since October. He’s settled well into foster care and really loves being around his humans.
Oscar’s ideal home needs to have at least one person around most of the time. Oscar has shown signs of isolation distress, meaning he cannot be left alone, even for shorter periods of time at the moment. Amazing Greys are able to provide Oscar’s forever family with support to help him work through this.
Oscar is an affectionate boy who loves a cuddle on the sofa. He will often follow his foster carers around the home, just to make sure they don’t forget how much he loves them! Because Oscar enjoys the company of other dogs, we also think that he could adapt well to having a doggy brother or sister in the home. Oscar has not been tested with cats and would not be suited to a home with small pocket-pets.
Oscar is currently living in a home with a backyard and a houndie foster sibling. As he is still young and energetic his new home will need to have a similar arrangement with a suitable outdoor space for him to explore and preferably with another dog to keep him company.
If you think you could provide Oscar with the loving home he is searching for, please send us an email at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au
