Louis - 12 Week Old Labrador x - on trial 31/12/22

Louis is here to win your heart. He’s a 12-week-old black Labrador Retriever X with a sweet gentle nature, full of curiosity and always ready for a tummy rub. This friendly boy enjoys exploring the world around him, rough-housing with his brother, and curling up with his chew toy for some quiet time.

Since coming into care this clever boy has been working on short walks in his harness, answering to his name, sit and come commands. He loves to play tug of war, fetch, and follow his foster carer around keeping a close eye on the goings on of the household. He is close to toilet trained and has only had a few accidents since arriving in care. He currently sleeps well with his brother in his crate, inside, during the night. As he is a puppy and full of energy he is still working on his patience and can get over-excited, jump, mouth and play nip at times. His foster carer is working on this, and his training will need to be continued in his new home.

Louis will grow into a larger dog, around 36-40kg. His ideal family will be home often, understand that he needs regular exercise, mental stimulation, ongoing puppy training and socialisation. As he is not fully vaccinated he has not been tested with other dogs but is excited and curious to meet some! Because he is prone to jumping and play-biting he will need a home with children 10 or older who are confident with dogs. Louis’s new home will need good fencing that is 6ft tall with no small gaps. Unfortunately, rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.)

As Louis is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when he is approximately 5/6 months old.
