About 🌻Maya🌻 C04198
Hi my name is Maya! Here’s a little more about me 🐾
My favourite food: Advance dry food and Prime 100 chicken loaf 😋
My favourite activity: Eating from my puzzle feeder 🌼
My favourite place: Playing with stuffed toys😍
My best feature: My soulful eyes 🥰
Maya is such a sweet and gentle girl. She is a happy and curious young lady. Maya is 1.5 years old with personality and good looks. The way to her heart is certainly a mixture of love, food, cuddles and grooming.
Maya has big goofy paws and floppy ears that are perfect for cuddles on the couch watching Netflix, she loves to roll over for tummy pats and has a favourite scratchy spot on her neck that will get her legs going. She is such a happy girl, and her tail is always wagging.
Maya’s love of food means she is easy to train, and she is very clever, picking up basic obedience very quickly. The Shelter staff have taught her to “sit” in less than a few days. She has not had any accidents inside her pen and holds on until morning, to when she is let out to do her business in the exercise yard.
Maya is very curious and will jump up to get a better look at what is happening, with time and consistency this could definitely be worked on but is not a big issue given she is so gentle (there have been improvements already).
Maya has a massive love of stuffed toys, she loves anything that she can play with and hold in her mouth, she also like to take her toys to bed with her.
The best home for Maya would be single dog family and for someone who will be around more than they are away as she doesn’t love to be left alone for long periods of time.
Maya is great with older kids but as she is a bit of a 'goofball', she would be likely to cuddle too enthusiastically and end up sitting on a small child, so still best to keep a watchful eye with very little ones.
To meet Maya please fill out an adoption application and tell us a little about you and your family and to why you would be a perfect fit for Maya.

o scanning for microchips and posting on the lost page of the Shire’s website.
o letters are sent to identified owners
o rangers attend properties where owners cannot be contacted.
o we network with the Lost Dogs Home, RSPCA and other council organisations to search their records for identified animals.
2. All the dogs in our care are fed high quality nutritious food, provided enrichment, receive a nice clean pen each day and our tireless staff use every opportunity to spend time with the dogs to help them to connect and regain trust.
3. After the eight business day holding period and there has been no success at finding the owner or the owner has abandoned or surrendered the dog, the animal will then go on to our next step in the re-homing process.
4. The dogs go to the vet for desexing, vaccination and general health checks
5. Our caring and dedicated staff walk the dogs, provide training and socialisation. The dogs experience different environments and adventures. Our team are highly experienced, qualified and are up to the challenge of assessing and preparing the animals for rescue and adoption.
6. All applicants go through a screening process to ensure our dogs go to the right forever home.
7. All adoptive owners are educated on responsible pet ownership, keeping your dog contained, registering your dog and walking your dog on lead.
