Neva is such a sweet and gentle girl. She is a happy and curious little puppy on the inside even though her microchip says she’s 2 years old! She literally jumps for joy and dances in circles when she sees you fill her bowl. The way to her heart is certainly a mixture of love, food and pats. Neva has big goofy paws and floppy ears that are perfect for cuddles on the couch, she loves to roll over for tummy pats and has a favourite scratchy spot on her neck that will get her legs going. She is such a happy girl and her tail is always wagging.

Neva’s love of food means she is easy to train and she is very clever, picking up basic obedience very quickly. Her foster mum has managed to teach her to “sit” in less than a week and Neva has moved onto learning to “drop” and “dance”(spin in a circle). Neva sleeps inside overnight in a room with her doggy foster pal, she can get a bit nervous if left alone in the dark, but she has quickly adapted to her new sleeping arrangements. She has not had any accidents inside the house and holds on until morning when she is let out to do her business in the back yard.

Neva is very curious and will carefully and gently jump up to get a better look at what is happening, with time and consistency this could definitely be worked on but is not a big issue given she is so gentle (there have been improvements already).

Neva protects the house as she likes to have a woof at the tradies building houses behind us when the power tools are going as they are new to her. She also hasn’t had much experience with toys just yet but she would love to learn as she is full of a fun and playful spirit.

The best home for Neva would be one that has a doggy companion who she could play and cuddle with, who might teach her how to fetch a ball! She gets along really well with her foster brother but he is a bit old and boring. She needs someone to play with! She also needs someone who will be around more than they are away as she doesn’t love to be left home without the family, having a fur brother or sister who is active to play with may help in this department.

She is gentle around her foster family and their children (3 year old boy and 11 month old girl) and happily watches them jump on the trampoline or says hello through the sliding doors to each other. The 3 year old has also been helping Neva to learn to sit with treats and she has been very gentle with him. She is great with the kids and loves the 11month old but is also a bit of an boofhead and if not supervised would likely cuddle too enthusiastically and end up sitting on her, so still best to keep a watchful eye with very little ones.
