About Mia
Meet Mia, a remarkable 6-year-old Staffy with a story of resilience and determination. Mia came into care late last year after finding herself at a pound in Canberra, scared and alone after being dropped off there by her family. Despite facing challenges along the way, Mia's spirit remains unbroken.
Recently, Mia underwent surgery to have her second eye removed due to glaucoma, rendering her completely blind. However, her loss of sight hasn't hindered her zest for life. Mia continues to embrace each day with unwavering enthusiasm.
After a failed adoption, Mia currently finds herself staying in a kennel while efforts are made to find her a foster or foster-to-adopt home. She thrives in an environment where she can be the sole recipient of attention, preferring to be the only dog in the household. Mia values her personal space and prefers not to interact closely with other dogs.
Adapting to her new life as a blind dog, Mia is still rebuilding her confidence. She enjoys going for walks, relying on her heightened sense of smell to explore the world. However, it's essential for her family to provide verbal cues and guidance to ensure she feels safe and secure in new environments when out walking.
Mia possesses a love for mental stimulation and enrichment. She delights in solving puzzles and enjoys the challenge of interactive toys like puzzles and Kongs. Providing her with plenty of opportunities for mental engagement will not only keep her entertained but also help her stay mentally sharp.
If you're someone who enjoys engaging in heartfelt conversations with your furry companion, Mia is an exceptional listener. She craves human connection and appreciates the warmth and affection that comes with it.
Mia would thrive in a home with a retired couple or a family that enjoys spending quality time at home. She's a true homebody who prefers cosy snuggles on the lounge, accompanying you while watching a movie, over rigorous exercise. If you share a similar lifestyle, Mia is the perfect match for you.
Mia is not only a clever, loving, happy girl but also a quiet and reserved one. She isn't much of a barker. This just adds to her charm and makes her an ideal companion for those who appreciate a peaceful and serene living environment.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Mia's spirit remains unbreakable. She yearns for a loving home where she can experience the comfort, care, and understanding she truly deserves. If you're ready to open your heart and provide a forever home for this resilient and loving soul, Mia eagerly awaits the opportunity to be a part of your family.
Mia is located in Brisbane QLD but is available for interstate adoption, at the adopters' expense.

Adoption details
Step 1: Fill out the adoption application
Complete the adoption application found at the following link: https://rb.gy/dzdrb. Once the application is completed and returned, it will be assessed for suitability.
Step 2: Phone call from HNE team
You will receive a call from one of the HNE team to discuss your application in more detail. This will be followed up by another phone call to answer any further questions or concerns that may be raised from the previous call.
Step 3: Meet and greet with the dog and yard check
If your application progresses, a meet and greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and current dogs is arranged where possible. Should this not be possible due to being interstate, then an online meet with the foster carer will be arranged. This usually coincides with a yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept.
Step 4: Payment of adoption fee
Payment of the non-refundable adoption fee in full is required prior to the handover of the dog. You will receive all the animal's possessions, and certificates will be emailed. Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the adopting party. Hear No Evil is happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step: Microchip details and finalization of adoption
Once the 14-day "settling in" period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalized. More information can be found in the Terms & Conditions on the adoption form.
