About Jag - STA009000 Permanent Foster Home
We would like to introduce you to the adorable Jag! This stunning senior gentleman is just that, a gentleman. Due to his medical condition Jag is not able to be adopted however, he is still looking for his forever home.
Jag has kidney disease as well as FIV, so he requires special medication and food to help support his kidneys, as well as keep him as healthy as he can be.
Jag is a funny old fella, who loves a chat, and loves a lap to sit on. He can sometimes be funny about his food, so his humans may need to blend it up for him. To be honest Jag would prefer a home where he is able to lounge around, have a nice comfortable bed by a sunny window and enjoy his retirement years.
While he is easy going, he does have arthritis which means that he does become stiff and sore in the colder months. He would prefer a home, with no other animals or kids.
Jag will require monthly health checks at our vet clinic, to ensure that he is as healthy as he can be. CPSV will provide for all of Jags needs, This includes his food, medication and toys (not that toys interest him anymore).
If you think you could provide this old fella with a home, to see out his retirement years please contact the foster team at foster@catprotection.com.au.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
