About Gracie
Gracie is ready to find her new family today!
Gracie was surrendered to SCAR after her family couldn't look after her anymore.
Gracie has always been a country girl at heart and would love to live in a quiet country town or in the suburbs but no inner city living for this Lab! Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle would be lovely.
Gracie has always been allowed to run off lead and is still getting used to wearing her harness and being walked on a lead. She's doing amazing with this and would love someone to continue teaching her using rewards based training.
As a Lab, Gracie loooves her food and will work for it! She's overweight at the moment so will need someone dedicated to helping her trim down. This beautiful girl does have some minor hip dysplasia so getting her to a healthy weight should be a priority.
Gracie has had dog friends in the past but can be quite timid when meeting new ones. We think a home without another dog would be best for her while she continues to get used to seeing other dogs out and about.
Potential adopters will have the chance to come back to SCAR to do some behavioural training to set both Gracie and her new family up for success.
Gracie loves children and has previously live with children of varying ages. She is very excitable to very small children and may bowl them over. Dog savvy kids will be a must.
Gracie would probably do best in a home without cats as she does have a tendency to chase, however with the right cat and some gradual introductions this could be managed.
