About Bella
**Please note: Bella needs a very a quiet home with someone happy to manage a tripod dog with Addison's disease. Potential adopters will have the opportunity to speak to our vets about Bella's ongoing needs.
Bella is a sweetheart with a quirky personality and has a massive love for food. Despite being 2 years old, Bella is still a puppy at heart and loves to play. She would do well with another small breed dog to keep her company, especially another Italian Greyhound.
Bella appreciates lots of mental stimulation such as finding treats around the house and looking out the window. She would love someone to continue using positive rewards based training with her.
Ever since her leg fracture, Bella has unfortunately developed a lot of anxiety around handling, so she would be best without any young children in her new home while working on this. Bella now has three legs and has a special harness with this in mind.
Bella is going to need a patient owner and a fear free vet clinic to help with her fear of handling around vet visits. After being in her current foster home for 3 months, she has very slowly learnt to trust again but vet procedures are still quite worrying for her understandably.
Bella will require physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help her build muscle on her remaining legs. She will also need on-going blood tests to manage her Addison's disease.
A few words from Bella: I would love a home with a patient, gentle yet confident little doggy friend that will tolerate my persistent invite to play. He/she shall be my emotional support when the humans are away. My foster mum has told me I can be a little bossy especially when it comes to mealtimes. Nobody touch my food! A quiet household is what I want as loud noises like the hot wind blowy thing, the noisy machines in the kitchen and ESPECIALLY THE CARPET-SUCKING MONSTER! scares me. I am also not a fan of sudden noises. As you can tell by now, I have (just a little bit of) anxiety. I do not like to be approached too quickly but I will happily come to you for a cuddle. If you speak treats, you speak my language! I am happy to live with nice cats but only if they tolerate me inviting them to play. My perfect day is eating all day and going for a nice walk where I can sniff everything along the way. Oh, I do need my daily tablets as well.
