Bambi

Please meet BAMBI, a sweet, gentle and petite 2 yo female kelpie mix, weighing just 14.8 kgs.

Bambi is a timid girl but if she finds someone who will give her space, kindness and patience for a couple of days, she will reward them with lifelong affection and unconditional love and loyalty.

Bambi bonded quickly and closely with her foster mum and sister, both of whom appear in the photos, and is now their little shadow.

She seems to have a special affinity with women, is wary of men, and is great with children, provided they are calm and understand that Bambi can be easily overwhelmed, especially in those early days when she is adjusting to her new environment.

Bambi seems to have a preference for male dogs over females. It took Bambi a couple of days to size up her foster mum's young male border collie, but now they get along famously. They spend much of the day running and romping in the backyard, as if they've always lived together.

Intelligent and eager to please her favourite humans, Bambi walks beautifully on a lead and is steadily learning her basic commands. She is house-trained.

To be happy and content, Bambi will need plenty of vigorous daily exercise and play, which is more achievable if she shares her home with a compatible dog. As always, secure fencing is a must, although Bambi has shown no interest in jumping fences.

Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and there is another compatible dog for Bambi to play with. Previous breed experience will be highly regarded. Bambi is not available to full-time workers.
