Scruffy - 8 yo Terrier X (On trial 27/12/22)

Meet Scruffy, a delightful little black and white terrier mix who weighs about 6.4kg. He wasn’t microchipped when he came into care so vet thinks he is about 8-10 years old. Scruffy came to us with another little doggy from undesirable circumstances. He was covered in fleas and had developed flea allergy Dermatitis on his back.

Scruffy is a very gentle affectionate little dog with nothing but love to give. He gets along with all my other doggies extremely well and shows concern for my little blind and deaf one. It is so cute watching him looking out for him.

He walks well on a leash and travels well in the car, although sometimes he can become a little anxious. He is good with recall but needs training with sit, stay etc. Scruffy will bond with you very quickly. All he wants is your love and affection. His gentle nature will win your heart.

He loves his food and eats all his vegetables and then hopes to get seconds from one of my other little ones. He is currently on a raw and fresh diet.

Scruffy is toilet trained and sleeps all night in his little bed, although sometimes he will make it up to my bed.

Scruffy isn't a nuisance barker at all but he will bark when he gets excited eg. going for walk etc.

I was informed he had a little separation anxiety. If I am out in the front garden he does get a little stressed because he can't see me. He is ok with my other doggies when I go out. They all bark until I pull out of driveway then settle down. Scruffy will greet you with barking because he is excited to see you.

Another little quirk I have discovered while he has been in my care is that not to leave any food or leftovers on coffee table, it will disappear. Lol

Upon having his vet check it was discovered Scruffy had a dislocated hip. A very old injury, vet says he had learned to live with the pain and discomfort. He underwent orthopedic surgery and has recovered well. No more pain for this little man. Because of this procedure Scruffy will be available to adopt early January.

Scruffy will make someone a loyal loving companion who will look up to you with the most loving eyes. I would like this little man to be adopted by a retired person or couple or someone who is home more often than not. He has so much love to give. He must be an inside dog. Although he currently lives with 5 other doggies I feel he would revel in being an only dog. He will soak up all the undivided attention. He will be your loyal companion not wanting to leave your side. His unconditional love will melt your heart and work its way into your soul.

Scruffy’s adoption fee is $400 which includes all up to date vet work. He is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms.
