About Shakira
*In foster care in Marrickville, Sydney*
Shakira is a raucous and playful kitten who's taken to all aspects of foster life like a duck to water! A fairly independent soul, she likes to do her own thing but isn't shy - and she's not afraid of very much at all!
This very vocal girl isn't backwards about telling you how she feels, either - something that earned her the name 'Shakira' as she can definitely hold a note! She's also a world-class snuggler, and you'll often wake to find her tucked in above your shoulder or behind your knee :)
Shakira always finds the warmest, sunniest patch in the house, even if it means climbing up onto a windowsill (and immediately falling back down) or sitting right in the front door (where a sudden gust of wind once gave her a real fright and sent her diving under the couch!).
Like all Maggie's pets, Shakira is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: Because I'm so confident and adaptable by nature, I'll fit in pretty much anywhere! I'm not super needy but I do love company - as well as snacks! - so someone with a regular routine who's home a reasonable amount of the time would be purrfect :)
A bit of space to run around and jump and climb would be fun too, and I definitely wouldn't say no to another friendly kitty who I can bond with!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Typical kitten! I love my toys, especially the wand toy and tinkle ball. Beware of anything small and fluffy, as it *will* be hunted and destroyed! During my downtime, I like to retreat to the top of the cat tower or a quiet shelf in the wardrobe to store up some energy for my early morning and evening antics :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven't had the chance to meet any kids yet. I'm still learning from my kitty foster sister how to play gently, and I'm quickly improving, so it's likely I'd be fine with kids - of at least school age, ideally.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I've really enjoyed hanging out with the resident cat in my foster home, and happily chase her big fluffy tail all day! That's just my way of saying I'd like to be friends, and I'm delighted whenever she permits me to snuggle up with her :)
I haven't met any dogs at this stage so it's harder to know how that might go.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
