About Lucy - 3 Year Old Cattle Dog (On Trial)
Meet Lucy, our 3 year old Cattle Dog who finds herself looking for a home.
Lucy is very sweet and affectionate, she loves her toys, bringing them all into her bed to snuggle and running around with them.
Lucy is timid when outside of the home, but she is quickly developing her confidence and coming out of her shell. Lucy is still working out who, where and what is safe in the great outdoors. Lucy would benefit from a quieter home with a single, couple or family with older children. Lucy takes longer to warm to males in the home.
Lucy has quickly learnt the lead is a good thing! And is now quite excited to go for walks, even if it can be a bit scary out there at times. Due to so many thing outside being new experiences, a commitment to ongoing exposure and training is a requirement for adoption.
Lucy has lived with other dogs before, and quickly fell in love with her older foster brother, however a meet and greet would be required for adoption with another dog. She is untested with cats or pocket pets.
Lucy’s forever family will need to understand how to look after a timid dog, affording patience to allow Lucy to develop her confidence and find her place in her new home. Lucy does well with good boundaries which make her feel safe.
As Lucy is people orientated and loves company, she would need to be allowed inside to sleep, and hang out with her family. A doggy door is preferred as she has always lived indoors so this is her safe place. She is well mannered around food and obeys basic commands in the home well. She would love if her owners worked from home, or if not to have a doggy companion for company. Lucy’s new home will need to have good fencing that is 5ft tall with no gaps. Unfortunately, rural fencing such as mesh or wire would not be suitable.
Lucy’s foster parents say she is a total sweetheart to have around the house. Can you give the her the forever home she deserves?
