About Confucius
Confucius is an engaging, lovely cat who would make an excellent companion to any lucky human. Confucius has an incredibly chill nature, and would just like to be friends with everyone. He is extremely social with people he knows, and will happily be a lap cat to his new human companion. Confucius is quite switched on for a cat, and you'll quickly find that you're able to communicate with him and feel understood just a little more than you can with other cats. It is quite an honour to know him and to experience just how engaging he is.
Confucius was found by one of the feeders from The Stray Cats Project, who had been feeding other managed cats in the area, when one day Confucius began to show up to join in for dinner time. He wasn't part of the colony but they figured he must be hungry, so let's continue to put a little extra food out for him too! One night whilst they were trying to trap a stray kitten who needed to be taken in to care, Confucius – who absolutely loves his food – went straight into the trap first and was captured by accident! He wasn't microchipped or desexed, and we couldn't find an owner for him anywhere. Upon taking him into care for a few days so that he could be desexed, it was realised that Confucius was just too social and friendly to be released again. He just absolutely needs to be loved and looked after!
The vet believes Confucius is around 3-4 years old. He will happily chill out throughout the day and receive endless pats and cuddles, and will sleep on his human's bed if allowed. He also has a playful side, and will happily play with toys if he is encouraged.
He is a big fluffy boy, with strong paws, so we wouldn't recommend him for the frail or elderly, only because he is a bit heavier than he thinks he is when he steps on you (please don't tell him we said that). Other than that he is a great cat for anyone, and he has an incredibly loud and rumbly purr that is great for the soul when it's cuddle time.
Although he is very intelligent, he can also be a massive boof-head at times. Confucius does not care for trivialities such as the dominance games of other cats. He will quite readily walk straight up to them without fear and try to be their friend. And he is a little bit clumsy, much in nature like a dog, but he has a care-free nature that overall adds to his charm and character.
